Conner & Cole .:. 10 Days New .:. Portland Newborn Photography

conner-and-cole-5x7-intro-cardTwins are so amazing!  It was so much fun to photograph these two sweet boys. It is so awesome to see how they naturally curl together outside of the womb. I hope to see more of them in the future, and watch them grow alongside each other! Congratulations Jay and Kimberly!

Meet Conner & Cole:

How did mom find out she was pregnant?  How did she tell dad?  What did he say?

We have tried for a long time for many years to have a baby.  We decided to take it to the next level and use fertility treatments, and did an IVF cycle, so knew from the very beginning that we were pregnant.  We were lucky enough to get ultrasounds from the very beginning, and got to watch them grow, it was pretty cool.  Finding out we were finally pregnant was pretty emotional, it was amazing.

What is the first baby item you bought?

With having twins, we have had to buy so much stuff; it’s hard to remember what the first item was.  Early on we were in Target and decided to a matching outfit, I believe that was our first purchase.

Babies birth date, weight, etc:

The babies were born on Halloween, one day before mommy’s birthday.  Conner weighed 6 lb 1 oz, and was 18 3/4 inches long.  Cole weighed 4 lb 7 oz, and was 17 3/4 inches.  They grew at the same rate until the last 3 weeks.  They were born at the 37th week of pregnancy.

How did you choose your baby’s name?

Names were a challenge and Mom and Dad couldn’t agree on two.  Our short list was Beau, Cole, Reed, Conner, Riley, Nathan, and Brayden.  We knew Brooks would always be a middle name.  It was on the second day in the hospital, when we finally said, we need to name these guys, baby A and baby B was getting embarrassing.  Conner Riley was one figured would be right for baby A, and Cole Brooks just made sense, and sounded great, Conner and Cole.

What nickname or pet name do you call your baby?

No nickname yet, but Mom makes up other “C” names from time to time, Colin, Corbin.  It’s pretty funny.

What has been the greatest part of becoming a parent(s)?

It’s been a long time coming for these boys to finally be here.  We counted down every week.  The struggles we have had with infertility have only made us a stronger team, and these boys will continue that, they have already.  Mommy is such a wonderfully caring person, and they couldn’t be in better hands.

Any advice for new parents-to-be?

Parents to be don’t take it for granted.  It’s the hardest thing we have ever had to go through it and it’s all worth it.  Love them every day.  Get all the help you can, sleep when you can, because the lack of sleep is insane, didn’t really realize how hard that part would be.
